About the Role:
As a Strategic Capacity Manager you will focus on using your experience with our unique carrier network and industry-first technologies to help shape the form and direction of our Carrier Sales efforts. You'll be a mission-critical relationship with existing carriers to help the develop power lanes, growth their business, and optimize their fleet. Short-haul is a vastly more complicated and disparate world than long-haul, so your experience and insights will be critical to helping us build and develop the first short-haul network. You’ll work closely with our engineers and data team to carefully supercharging our cutting-edge short-haul platform. Additional opportunities are generated through industry referrals, internal communications and prospecting. As your relationships and success grow, so will your pay. This role combines inside sales, account management, supply chain knowledge and operational excellence to meet the shipping needs of our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, establish and maintain relationships with carriers in the truckload marketplace
  • Knowledge of various freight markets and trends based
  • Identify, source and procure new carriers relationships
  • Establish internal relationships within Torch to expand your book of business
  • Manage carrier network to ensure accurate levels of service
  • Utilize data driven resources to make informed buying decisions
  • Navigate Torch’s proprietary software to manage daily operational load management tasks
  • Work closely with Customer Account Managers to provide best-in-class service
  • Manage and coordinate junior carrier sales staff
  • Train and provide guidance to new and junior staff
  • Occasional weekend work required

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5+ years of logistics experience
  • At least 5+ years of carrier sales experience
  • Management-ready
  • Degree highly preferred
