Role Description

As the founding eBPF engineer, you will be pivotal in designing and implementing StepSecurity endpoint security agents for Linux, and Kubernetes. This role allows you to leverage a first-principles approach to innovate CI/CD-specific security solutions from scratch. This is a high-impact role, as you would be working on cutting-work on cutting-edge CI/CD security solutions to advance the CI/CD security industry. You will have ownership and creative freedom to shape the platform.

We are looking for a hands-on software engineer to build endpoint security agents for Linux and Kubernetes using eBPF.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize endpoint security agents using Golang, C, and other programming languages as required.
• Design, implement, and improve Harden-Runner security agent for Linux and Kubernetes.
• Architect efficient solutions using effective tech stack and system primitives.
• Monitor telemetry from existing agents and improve reliability and performance as required.
• Maintain a high-quality bar for Harden-Runner endpoint security agents.
• Build software release processes and systems to ship in rapid iteration while maintaining quality requirements.
• Keep up with industry trends and extend Harden-Runner capabilities as required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience building operating system/Kubernetes services, agents, low level services, or system drivers.
• eBPF experience.
• Kubernetes development experience.
• Strong understanding of Linux, and Kubernetes.
• Golang and/or C experience.
• Experience writing highly resilient, performant, and reliable code.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience working in a startup or high-impact, outcome-driven environment preferred.
• Driven, self-motivated, and creative-thinker always on the lookout for ways to improve or enhance current state.
