Built by a team of serial entrepreneurs with deep SMB roots, Palm is on a journey to transform the financial landscape for small businesses and are looking for a driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to help accelerate our mission.
As a BDR, you will be the first point of contact for prospective customers. Your work will directly influence Palm’s growth by identifying high-quality leads, driving outbound outreach, and fueling the performance of our revenue engine.
What You Will Do
Palm is looking for a proactive, high-energy BDR to support our sales and growth efforts. This is a high-impact role in an early-stage financial technology company, offering autonomy, ownership, and meaningful upward mobility.
Key Responsibilities

Outbound Prospecting
Build and manage outbound sequences across phone, email, and LinkedIn
Execute outbound sequences and campaigns to generate interest and create pipeline opportunities.
Prospect into firms with SMB clients that handle formations & compliance for their business clients
Source, identify, and qualify prospective leads across multiple channels (email, phone, social, etc.)
Identity decision makers, including firm owners, managing partners, and operations managers
Consistently hit daily/weekly activity targets with qualified prospects

Qualification & Meeting Generation
Run first touch conversations to understand firm size, client volume, and current compliance workflow
Conduct discovery conversations to understand business pain points, evaluate fit, and determine readiness for Palm’s solutions.
Maintain high-quality lead data and activity tracking in our CRM.
Book high-quality demos with Palm’s founders/leads
Ensure meetings are well pre-pepped and well qualified and optimized to reduce no-shows

Collaboration & Pipeline Support
Work closely with GTM and Product teams to align messaging, support campaigns, and optimize outreach effectiveness.
Provide insights from customer conversations to help guide product, positioning, and marketing strategies.
Track all activity cleanly in CRM (currently Attio)

Performance & Reporting
Track KPIs such as outreach volume, response rates, conversion rates, and qualified opportunities
Continuously test, iterate, and refine outreach strategies to improve results
Share insights from conversations, including objections, messaging, and reasons why deals were stalled/won

Brand Representation
Serve as the first human touchpoint representing Palm, communicating our value clearly, empathetically, and effectively
What success looks like:
Fully ramped on Palm’s product, ICP, and value proposition
Contributing 10 booked demos per week
Consistently reaching engaging qualified firms with 100+ clients
Touching at least 50-100 prospects per day (outbound calls) + automated email & LinkedIn sequences
Who You Are
1–3 years of experience in a Sales Development or Business Development role
Excellent English
Experience working in SaaS, fintech, SMB tools, or startup environments preferred
Strong communication abilities (written & verbal)
Highly organized, metrics-driven, and coachable with a strong desire to grow
Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot, Attio, Salesforce, or similar)
Able to work within U.S. time zones to collaborate with our California-based team
Resourceful, curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
