About the Role

We are hiring a Technical SEO Specialist who is equally comfortable identifying and fixing technical SEO issues as they are communicating recommendations with clarity. This is a mid-level role that requires real-world implementation experience, not just strategy. You will be deeply embedded in the optimization of client sites, ensuring that every page meets high performance and indexing standards.

WordPress fluency is essential, and we are looking for someone who has used tools like Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Moz, PageSpeed Insights, and Search Console not just to analyze but to take action. You should be able to walk us through how you would fix a failing Core Web Vitals report and then actually do it.

What You Will Do

• Perform technical audits using crawling tools to identify issues such as 404s, slow load times, indexing blocks, or schema conflicts
• Diagnose and implement solutions for broken links, missing metadata, crawl inefficiencies, and site structure gaps
• Work directly in the backend of WordPress to apply fixes and optimizations
• Evaluate and optimize schema markup using tools like Yoast and Rank Math, with a focus on enhancing visibility in search results
• Monitor Core Web Vitals and troubleshoot any failing tests, walking through your resolution process step by step
• Improve site speed and technical compliance
• Identify and resolve errors in Search Console, including indexing issues, canonical mismatches, and mobile usability warnings
• Partner with content and design teams to ensure all new pages meet SEO best practices prior to launch
• Maintain documentation of site health, optimization efforts, and outcomes using reports and dashboards
  
  

What You Bring

• Three to five years of experience in a technical SEO role with proven implementation ownership
• Strong hands-on experience with WordPress and backend SEO tools
• Ability to independently run site crawls, evaluate errors, and resolve issues without needing external development support
• Deep understanding of schema markup, structured data, and how they impact visibility
• Strong working knowledge of Core Web Vitals and experience troubleshooting performance issues using Google tools
• An eye for detail and a mindset of constant improvement

• Familiarity with legal marketing or other high-competition service industries
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript to support deeper debugging

This role is a Hybrid position, that will require occasional travel to FirmPilots HQ for team collaboration.

Expected salary range for this role: $65,000 - $95,000
