Director of Finance & Operations. Level: Senior Level (Member of the leadership team). Date: December 2022. Location: Chicago, IL. Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer. Overview: Clearbox Decisions, Inc., creators of the Cloverpop Decision Intelligence platform, is transforming enterprise decision-making. Through our software platform, we enable customers to automate, collaborate, track, and learn from decisions, bridging the data-to-decision disconnect and improving speed and quality. Role Description: Establish and lead the finance function and scale operations across the company including HR and strategic planning, working closely with executive leadership, the board, and investors. Your Impact: Found and build the organization’s finance and operations functions, establishing processes and reporting to drive strategic planning and execution. Responsibilities (Strategic): Advise CEO on strategy, capital deployment and risk; represent Finance/HR/Operations in leadership; own budgeting, financial planning, and long-range modeling; partner on investor relations and board reporting; coordinate periodic company performance reporting. Finance & Accounting: Direct all accounting operations (GL, AR, AP, payroll, reporting); develop accounting policies (GAAP compliance); own budgeting, forecasting and audits; oversee accounting and tax policy; manage contract-to-invoice, AR/AP; handle company insurance; oversee full-time/contracted personnel (bookkeeper, insurance agent, tax advisor); manage equity/options issuances (Carta). Commercial: Participate in pricing, negotiations and commercial decisions; work with Commercial and Product on pricing strategy; ensure MSAs and related agreements; translate forecasts to account plans with Sales and Decision Success; own and drive gross margins via COGS management; oversee bookings and ARR policy and accuracy; manage and execute commissions; assess partnership opportunities. HR: Oversee HR policy, compensation and recruiting; establish compensation strategy and pay bands; manage resource approvals; establish onboarding, reviews, engagement monitoring and exit process; participate in personnel matters; lead recruitment of HR lead when appropriate. Skills and Qualifications: Accounting designation and/or Master’s in Accounting/Finance/Business; 5–7+ years progressive financial management; start-up experience preferred; SaaS/Analytics/AI a plus; strong problem-solving and recommendation development; strong communication skills with executives, investors and customers; solution knowledge across product offering.
